On November 24, LIU Yong, Vice President of Ocean University of China, and his delegation visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) to conduct research on talent cultivation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on areas including the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents, the digital and intelligent transformation of education and teaching, and the construction of the College of National Outstanding Engineer. Vice President ZHAO Yuxin attended the symposium. Assistant President GENG Jing presided over the meeting.
ZHAO Yuxin extended a welcome to LIU Yong and his delegation and briefly introduced HEU’s history and distinctive characteristics. The two universities share similarities yet maintain distinct characteristics in their historical heritage and disciplinary layout within the marine field, and both shoulder the important responsibility of supplying high-quality talent for the nation’s maritime endeavors. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation and mutual learning with Ocean University of China in serving national maritime strategies, jointly contributing wisdom and strength to the nation's development.

The two universities have broad prospects for cooperation in fields such as marine science, marine technology, and marine engineering. He expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen cooperation, integrate their respective advantages, and explore new models for talent cultivation oriented towards the future and serving national strategies, jointly contributing to the nation’s construction.
Prior to the meeting, LIU Yong and his delegation visited the Harbin Military Engineering Institute Memorial Hall. Relevant responsible persons from the Undergraduate School and the College of National Outstanding Engineer participated in the symposium.
