On December 7th, the inauguration ceremony of the Harbin Engineering University (HEU) Integrated Circuit Industry Alumni Association and the seminar on alumni supporting the development of the School of Integrated Circuits were held in the multifunctional hall of the Qihang Activity Center.

In his address, President YIN Jingwei stated that HEU established the School of Integrated Circuits and formed the industry alumni association to further pool the strength of alumni and promote the integration of industry and education as well as the convergence of science and education. He expressed hope that the alumni association would fully leverage its role as a bridge and bond, contributing HEU’s wisdom to the high-quality development of China’s integrated circuit industry.

Alumnus YANG Yunchun, class of 1989, fondly recalled his student years at his alma mater in his speech and shared his deep expectations for the industry’s development. He called on fellow alumni to jointly translate the “red gene” of serving the nation through military industry into a surging drive to overcome technical challenges, leaving a distinct mark of HEU fellow on the landscape of domestic high-end chips.

ZHANG Shimei, Deputy Secretary of HEU Party Committee, read out the Approval on the Establishment of the Harbin Engineering University Integrated Circuit Industry Alumni Association.

Assistant President YIN Hang presented the association flag to President YANG Yunchun and Co-President CHEN Jie.

Assistant President CHEN Hailong issued appointment letters to the main members of the alumni association.

YANG Yunchun, CHEN Jie, Executive Vice President YANG Xiaojun, and ZHANG Yonggang, Executive Dean of the School of Integrated Circuits, jointly unveiled the plaque for the “Integrated Circuit Alumni Enterprise Industry-Education Integration Base.”

ZHANG Yonggang read out the Initiative to Join the Integrated Circuit Research Institute, inviting more alumni from the industry and corporate colleagues to join the institute and jointly build a new high ground for industry development.

The seminar on alumni supporting the development of the School of Integrated Circuits was held after the inauguration ceremony. Representatives from ten enterprises and research institutions, including Beijing Sai Microelectronics Co., Ltd., delivered keynote reports.

The Secretariat of the Harbin Engineering University Integrated Circuit Industry Alumni Association is located at the alumni enterprise XIN Dong Lai and the School of Integrated Circuits. Association President YANG Yunchun and several industry alumni have donated to establish the “Harbin Engineering University Integrated Circuit Industry-Education Development Fund Project” within the university's Education Development Foundation.

In the future, the Integrated Circuit Industry Alumni Association will empower the lifelong growth and development of alumni and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of education, science, technology, and talent in the School of Integrated Circuits by building resource platforms and promoting industry-education integration.
