
Recently, ZHENG Yong, Associate Vice President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), along with a delegation of three, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for a research exchange. The visit was accompanied by relevant officials from the General Admissions Office of the Heilongjiang Provincial Admissions and Examination Institute. Vice President ZHAO Yuxin attended the symposium, while Presidential Assistant GENG Jing presided over the meeting.

ZHAO Yuxin extended a warm welcome to ZHEN Yong and the delegation, providing a brief overview of HEU’s historical development, educational features, and undergraduate talent cultivation. He emphasized the institution’s strong commitment to collaborating with world-leading universities such as HKUST. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity for mutual learning, leveraging each side’s strengths in industry resources and international platforms to jointly cultivate high-quality innovative talents with a global perspective, capable of addressing national priorities and critical needs.

ZHEN Yong introduced the educational orientation and talent development approach of HKUST(GZ). He noted that HKUST(GZ) is a key development project in the Nansha Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Comprehensive Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Guangzhou and serves as a significant engine for collaborative innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He highlighted the shared mission between HKUST(GZ) and HEU in contributing to national development. Zhen Yong expressed hope that both institutions would advance hand in hand, integrate their respective strengths, and jointly explore new models for future-oriented talent cultivation in service of the nation.
