Congratulations! Professor SONG Yingdong of HEU Awarded the “Feng Ru Science and Technology Prize”

The Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics recently announced the results of the eighth “Feng Ru Science and Technology Prize” selection. A total of nine aviation science and technology professionals nationwide received this honor, including Professor SONG Yingdong, Party Secretary of Harbin Engineering University (HEU).

Professor SONG Yingdong has long been engaged in teaching and research on aero-engine structural strength. He has conducted systematic and in-depth research in areas such as the strength of ceramic matrix composite hot-end components, load spectrum and life testing evaluation, and blade foreign object damage and repairability. His achievements have been applied to the development of multiple models of aero-engines. He has published over 430 academic papers, obtained more than 270 authorized invention patents, authored three monographs, and received two first-class, three second-class, and two third-class provincial/ministerial-level awards, including national defense awards. He has also been awarded one special-class and two first-class provincial teaching achievement prizes.

Professor SONG has long held key positions in multiple expert groups and academic organizations in the field of aero-engines, as well as served as editor-in-chief or deputy editor-in-chief for various scientific and technical journals. He has organized research on related scientific and technological development strategies and provided policy recommendations. He is responsible for the construction of the national first-class major in Aircraft Power Engineering and two national first-class courses, making significant contributions to technological innovation and talent development in China’s aero-engine sector.

The “Feng Ru Science and Technology Prize” was established by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2011 and is awarded biennially. It recognizes outstanding representatives of China’s aviation science and technology professionals who have achieved remarkable accomplishments and made significant contributions in areas such as aviation scientific research, technological development, disciplinary advancement, industrial application, aviation education, and national defense technology. The number of recipients generally does not exceed ten per session.
