Recently, the Sixth Youth Academic Forum on Marine Engineering was held at Harbin Engineering University (HEU).

Centered on the theme "Gathering Wisdom for the Deep Blue, Strengthening Maritime Power," the forum carried out academic exchanges focusing on breakthroughs in the fundamental theories of marine engineering, technological innovation, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Vice President HAN Duanfeng attended the opening ceremony. President Assistant CHEN Hailong presided over the forum.

In his address, HAN Duanfeng stated that young people are the new force in scientific and technological innovation and the group with the most exploratory spirit and reform potential. With young scholars as its main participants, this forum aims to build an open and equal platform for cutting-edge dialogue. He expressed hope that young scholars would engage in in-depth exchanges and discussions on core directions such as marine resource development, deep-sea and polar technology, intelligent equipment, and new materials, contributing their wisdom and strength to national development.

Sixteen distinguished young scientists and renowned entrepreneurs from the field of marine engineering, including Professor YAN Jun from Dalian University of Technology and Professor XU Wanhai from Tianjin University, delivered keynote reports. They addressed hot topics such as technological bottlenecks in deep-sea resource development, design and safety of marine structures, key technologies in marine equipment manufacturing, development of deep-sea mineral resources, and innovation in marine engineering materials, sharing forefront perspectives and innovative practices.
