The 3rd “Highland Starlight” Young Scientists Academic Salon Held at HEU

From January 24 to 26, the 3rd “Highland Starlight” Young Scientists Academic Salon was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. The opening ceremony was attended by YONG Chenggang, Director of the Department of Education and Training of the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT); HAN Jiecai, President of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT); and SONG Yingdong, Party Secretary of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), all of whom delivered keynote speeches.

Also in attendance were WU Jianjun, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of NUDT; CHEN Jinbao, Vice President of NUDT; and representatives from the Xi’an Satellite Control Center.

The Young Scientists Academic Salon aims to strengthen cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary exchange, stimulate innovative thinking, and promote original and pioneering scientific research. The program featured academic presentations, poster sessions, and on-site visits, with young researchers engaging in discussions on emerging trends and the latest advances in their respective fields.

The event encouraged open communication, mutual learning, and idea-sharing, laying a solid foundation for continued cooperation and joint progress in future research endeavors.

During the salon, participants visited major scientific research facilities and national-level research platforms at HEU and HIT, gaining first-hand insight into the universities’ strong research capabilities and innovative achievements. Many participants stated that they would use this opportunity to deepen collaboration, seize new opportunities in scientific and technological innovation, and contribute fresh momentum to national development.

The salon also included an excellent report selection session. Eleven outstanding presentations were selected through on-site voting, and certificates were awarded to the presenters.
