A delegation of seven led by TAN Xudong, Deputy Mayor of Qiqihar City, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) on February 27 for a research exchange. President YIN Jingwei met with the visiting delegation, engaging in discussions on deepening comprehensive cooperation.

YIN Jingwei extended a warm welcome to TAN Xudong and his delegation. He noted that HEU maintains strong collaborative foundations and close interactions with Qiqihar City, with broad prospects for cooperation in fields such as smart agriculture and intelligent equipment manufacturing. He expressed hope that this research visit would serve as an opportunity to initiate all-encompassing collaboration with Qiqihar City and its key enterprises, strengthening technological innovation synergy and joint talent cultivation while facilitating the transformation of more scientific achievements into practical applications.

TAN Xudong acknowledged Qiqihar’s solid agricultural foundation and profound industrial heritage, but pointed out challenges including insufficient technological support and low product added value, which necessitate technology-driven industrial upgrading. He expressed hope that HEU would leverage its disciplinary advantages and talent pool to precisely align with local industrial needs, conduct targeted technological research, co-establish national-level research platforms, and actively cultivate high-quality professionals. Such efforts, he noted, would facilitate the deep integration of intellectual resources with local natural and industrial assets, contributing to Qiqihar’s pursuit of higher-quality development.
The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on technological innovation, transformation of scientific achievements, and customized joint talent cultivation.
