On March 9, the award ceremony for the 13th College Students’ Career Planning Competition of Heilongjiang Province was held at Northeast Forestry University. Teachers and students from Harbin Engineering University (HEU) delivered an outstanding performance, winning a total of 10 Gold Awards (9 in the Student Track and 1 in the Teacher’s Teaching Track), 10 Silver Awards (7 in the Student Track and 3 in the Teacher’s Teaching Track), and 3 Bronze Awards. Both the total number of awards and the overall ranking achieved by HEU set a new record in the university’s history.

The provincial competition is divided into two major tracks: the Teacher’s Teaching Track and the Student Track. In the Teacher’s Teaching Track, QU Zhi from the College of Mathematical Sciences won the Gold Award, while DUAN Yunjia from the College of Power and Energy Engineering, LU Xuesong from the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, and DU Shixin from the Southampton Ocean Engineering Joint Institution at HEU.

The Student Track consists of three sub-tracks: the Growth Track, the Undergraduate Employment Track, and the Postgraduate Employment Track. HEU students claimed first place in all three sub-tracks. LI Siqi from the College of Shipbuilding Engineering, ZHANG Bingchen from the College of Power and Energy Engineering, CAI Yulu from the Southampton Ocean Engineering Joint Institution at HEU, and LIU Ziyue from the College of Nuclear Science and Technology won Gold Awards in the Undergraduate Growth Track. WANG Siyu from the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, along with LI Jiacheng and ZHOU Jinhao from the College of Nuclear Science and Technology, took home Gold Awards in the Undergraduate Employment Track. XING Jinhao from the College of Shipbuilding Engineering and ZHANG Xuanye from the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering won Gold Awards in the Postgraduate Employment Track.
With the theme “Nurturing Youth Dreams for a Broad Future, Charting Career Plans to Illuminate the Road Ahead,” the competition included school-level selection, provincial semi-finals, and finals. Across the province, 52 students and 7 teachers won Gold Awards, 81 students and 10 teachers earned Silver Awards, and 121 students and 13 teachers received Bronze Awards.
HEU organizes nearly 1,000 online and offline job fairs each year, attracting more than 3,500 enterprises and providing over 130,000 job opportunities for students. The university’s Career Guidance and Service Center has carefully designed a series of career guidance activities that form an integrated system with the college students’ career planning competition. In recent years, HEU has achieved remarkable results in graduate employment and has received honors such as the National Model University for Graduate Employment Experience and the National College Employment and Entrepreneurship Gold Award.

The handover of the competition flag also took place at the award ceremony. It was announced that the finals of the 14th College Students’ Career Planning Competition of Heilongjiang Province will be co-hosted by Harbin Engineering University, Heilongjiang University of Business and Technology, Harbin Preschool Teachers College.
