HEU Leadership Leads Delegation to Suzhou and Wuxi to Visit Alumni Enterprises and Key Partner Institutions

From March 22 to 23, President YIN Jingwei led a delegation to Suzhou and Wuxi to visit alumni enterprises and key partner institutions, aiming to deepen university-industry collaborative innovation and jointly chart a new blueprint for high-quality development. Assistant President Chen Hailong accompanied the visit.

During their time in Wuxi, YIN Jingwei and his delegation visited the China Ship Scientific Research Center.

YIN Jingwei stated that over the years, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) has maintained comprehensive cooperation with the China Ship Scientific Research Center, achieving a series of major breakthroughs. In light of the nation's new development phase, he expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen strategic coordination, focus on major national strategic needs, jointly explore new pathways for the integrated development of education, technology, and talent, and strive to set a benchmark for collaboration between academic institutions and research entities.

WU Yousheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and YE Cong, a 1997 alumnus of the HEU's Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering program, remarked that HEU serves as a vital base for talent cultivation and scientific research in the fields of naval architecture, ocean engineering, and nuclear science. Over the years, it has cultivated and supplied a large number of outstanding professionals to the research institute. They expressed hope for deeper cooperation in advancing major initiatives and jointly fostering talent, with the goal of strengthening China's independent innovation capacity in ship and ocean engineering equipment technology.

The Delegation Visits Faculty and Student Representatives Engaged in Frontline Scientific Research at Xuelang Town in Wuxi

During the visit, YIN Jingwei also led the delegation to the Xuelang Town in Wuxi to visit faculty members and student representatives from the research team dedicated to developing shipbuilding industrial software.

At CSSC Wuxi Haiying Company, YIN Jingwei and his delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the company's technological achievements and industrial footprint in underwater acoustic transducers and equipment.

YIN Jingwei remarked that Haiying Company is a high-tech enterprise and a key industrial force in China's underwater acoustics sector. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to strengthen communication and collaboration, leverage each other's strengths, and jointly advance technological and industrial innovation in the marine sector.

During their time in Suzhou, YIN Jingwei and his delegation conducted site visits to two specialized and sophisticated alumni enterprises, Zhiyuan Maglev Technology and Shengzhiyuan Electronics, gaining insights into their development and engaging in discussions on deepening industry-academia integration.

YIN Jingwei expressed appreciation for the achievements of the two alumni-founded enterprises. He highlighted that alumni are among HEU's most valuable assets and noted that 2026 has been designated as a year focused on supporting the growth and breakthroughs of alumni enterprises. He encouraged alumni enterprises to continue supporting and engaging with their alma mater, strengthening collaboration in industry-academia-research to foster the integration of education, talent, innovation, and industrial chains.

ZHOU Yiming, founder of Suzhou Shengzhiyuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., is a 1999 alumnus of the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering at HEU. His company’s core technical team has dedicated over a decade to the field of sonar transducer technology, having developed 14 product series and secured 32 patents.

Jiangsu Zhiyuan Maglev Technology Co., Ltd., founded by Zhang Qingyuan, a 1982 alumnus majored in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the design, R&D, and integrated application of new energy equipment. It has developed distinctive technological strengths in areas such as high-end equipment manufacturing and precision control.
