On March 28, the AI Dean Alliance Symposium, the 2026 Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Innovation Conference, was held in Changzhou.

The conference covered a wide range of topics, including breakthroughs in foundational theories, the development of disciplinary frameworks, and innovations in talent cultivation models, offering forward-looking insights for the high-quality advancement of China’s AI disciplines. Academic leaders in the field of artificial intelligence from renowned universities across the country, along with national-level high-caliber talents, gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on key issues such as AI discipline development, cutting-edge technological breakthroughs, and industry-education integration innovation.
During the conference, Professor SUN Fuchun delivered the opening report titled “Embodied Intelligence: Theoretical Perspectives, Technological Breakthroughs, and Innovative Applications in Manufacturing.” Other featured speakers included Professor YANG Dongsheng, Deputy Director of the Institute of Intelligent Electrical Science and Technology at Northeastern University; Professor ZHANG Weinan, Executive Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at Harbin Institute of Technology; Professor CAI Chengtao, Dean of the College of Intelligent Science and Engineering at HEU; Professor WU Dehao from the School of Automation at Central South University; and CHI Ming, Deputy Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
As a supporting institution for the conference, the College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering at HEU has a distinctive research profile and has undertaken a number of major national research projects, providing critical talent support and technological guarantees for the intelligent transformation of China's naval architecture and ocean engineering sectors. The event was organized by HEU’s Journal of Intelligent Systems, the official publication of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence. Leveraging the Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award ceremony, the journal has for years organized specialized symposia in the AI field, actively building platforms for academic exchange and collaboration. These efforts have continuously enhanced the national influence of HEU's intelligent disciplines and effectively advanced the high-quality development of artificial intelligence at HEU.
