From April 6 to 8, YIN Jingwei, President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), led a delegation to Xi’an. The delegation successively visited Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU), Chang’an University, Xidian University and the 705 Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC). President YIN also attended the 130th anniversary celebration of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and delivered invited reports at the Chang’an Academician and Expert Forum of Chang’an University and the Marine Frontier Forum of Xi’an Jiaotong University. YU Zhiwen, Vice President of HEU, participated in relevant activities.

On April 7, YIN Jingwei, YU Zhiwen and their delegation visited Northwestern Polytechnical University for research. SONG Baowei, President of NWPU, attended the symposium. 

SONG Baowei extended a warm welcome to the HEU delegation. He pointed out that NWPU and HEU share the same mission and development orientation, and have always maintained close exchanges and cooperation. He stressed that the two sides should further deepen cooperation in project collaboration, talent cultivation, discipline construction, faculty building and other fields, and join hands to accelerate the construction of world-class universities.

YIN Jingwei stated that HEU and NWPU have maintained close cooperation. He noted that NWPU has achieved remarkable development results in recent years, with high-level and forward-looking school-running concepts, effective measures and fruitful outcomes. The experience and practices of NWPU in discipline construction, organized scientific research, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and personnel and talent policies are worthy of learning and reference for HEU. He expressed the hope that the two sides will further strengthen communication and exchanges, forge ahead together, and make new contributions to the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents. 

Before the symposium, the HEU delegation visited the Science and Technology Museum and the Exhibition Hall of Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation of Northwestern Polytechnical University.

On the afternoon of April 7, YIN Jingwei and his delegation visited Chang’an University for research and exchanges. 

LI Shutao, President of Chang’an University, attended the research symposium. The two sides held in-depth exchanges and discussions on scientific research, discipline construction, talent cultivation and other fields.

On April 8, YIN Jingwei and his delegation visited Xidian University for research and exchanges. 

GAO Xinbo, President of Xidian University, and Cai Gushun, Director of the General Office of the Party Committee and Administration, attended the symposium. 

On the same day, YIN Jingwei and his delegation visited the 705 Research Institute of CSSC for research. SUN Junliang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the 705 Research Institute, attended the symposium and delivered a speech.

During the research visit, the third session of the Chang’an Academician and Expert Forum was held at the North Campus of Chang’an University, where YIN Jingwei delivered a special report. LI Shutao, President of Chang’an University, attended the report meeting. 

After the report, YIN Jingwei had interactive exchanges with teachers and students on site. More than 150 teacher and student representatives from various colleges attended the report meeting. 

During the research visit, Xi’an Jiaotong University held the Marine Frontier Forum at Xingqing Campus. 

In the exchange and discussion session, participating experts spoke enthusiastically and put forward valuable suggestions on the orientation of marine disciplines, interdisciplinary integration, organized scientific research and other aspects.
