On April 15, a three-member delegation led by Academician HUANG Weina of the Chinese Academy of Engineering visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU). SONG Yingdong, Secretary of HEU’s Party Committee, welcomed the guests in the VIP Meeting Room on the 8th Floor of the Main Building. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on scientific research cooperation, talent development, and other key areas.

SONG Yingdong warmly welcomed Academician HUANG Weina and her delegation and briefly introduced the university’s history, distinctive features, and discipline development. He highlighted that HEU focuses on the “Three Seas and One Nuclear” areas (ship industry, naval equipment, marine development, nuclear energy application) and promotes scientific innovation and talent cultivation aligned with major national strategies. In recent years, the university has prioritized advancing aeronautics and astronautics disciplines, emphasizing new-domain and high-quality power development. He expressed hope that both sides could combine strengths in talent, disciplines, and joint projects to deepen cooperation and foster innovation, contributing to the high-quality growth of China’s aero-engine industry.

Academician HUANG Weina shared the development history and key research directions of AECC Guiyang Engine Design Institute. She noted HEU’s distinctive disciplinary strengths and research capabilities in marine power and other areas, highlighting the potential for broad collaboration with AECC Guiyang Institute. She expressed her hope that the exchange would further enhance scientific research and collaborative innovation, bringing fresh momentum to the aero-engine industry.

Before the meeting, the delegation visited the PLA Military Engineering University (Harbin) Memorial Hall.
