Recently, CHEN Hailong, Assistant to the President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), led a delegation to partner institutions in Thailand and attended the China (Heilongjiang)-Thailand Enterprise (Institution) Symposium.

During the visit, CHEN Hailong, together with the Heilongjiang provincial delegation, paid a courtesy call on Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Mr. Bhokin Bhalakula, President of the Thailand-China Friendship Federation. HEU provided an update on the “Heilongjiang Province Princess Sirindhorn Scholarship Program” and expressed its intention to expand the program’s scale to support more young Thai students in pursuing their studies in Heilongjiang.

At the China (Heilongjiang)-Thailand Enterprise (Institution) Symposium, members of the HEU delegation held in-depth discussions with representatives of the overseas Chinese community, including LI Guixiong, Vice Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The two sides explored collaboration between universities and enterprises, as well as linkages between education and economic/trade cooperation, thereby building new bridges for partnership.

During the visit, the HEU delegation visited several Thai institutions, including Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Srinakharinwirot University, Chitralada Technology Institute, and Ruamrudee International School. The delegation held productive discussions with the heads of these institutions on topics such as academic exchanges, talent cultivation, teacher training, and the development of high-quality student recruitment bases. Chen Hailong signed MoUs on behalf of HEU with representatives from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon and Chitralada Technology Institute, laying a solid foundation for long-term and stable exchanges and cooperation between the parties.
This visit has effectively advanced HEU’s practical cooperation with Thailand’s education sector and further deepened people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as educational integration between China and Thailand.
