Changsha Mining Research Institute Chairman ZHUO Xiaojun Leads Delegation to Visit Harbin Engineering University

On May 12, a six-member delegation led by ZHUO Xiaojun, Chairman of Changsha Mining Research Institute Co., Ltd., and LIU Xu, Deputy General Manager, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU). HEU President YIN Jingwei attended the symposium, and Presidential Assistant CHEN Hailong accompanied the delegation and participated in the discussions.

President YIN highlighted the strong alignment between HEU and Changsha Mining Research Institute in areas such as mineral resource development and deep-sea exploration technologies. He noted the solid cooperative foundation the two sides have built in deep-sea mining and pointed to the vast potential for future collaboration. Yin expressed hope for deeper partnerships through joint faculty appointments, strengthened basic research, deeper integration of technological innovation with industrial development, and coordinated efforts to advance education, talent cultivation, and science and technology.

ZHUO Xiaojun spoked highly of HEU for its rich heritage and distinctive strengths, noting its outstanding contributions to the country through the cultivation of top-tier talent and a series of impactful achievements. He reiterated that Changsha Mining Research Institute is striving to become a globally recognized leader in scientific and technological innovation. ZHUO pointed to the solid and fruitful collaboration between the two parties in deep-sea resource development and deep-sea equipment. He called for further joint efforts in establishing national-level research platforms, co-developing major engineering projects, co-training high-end talent, and promoting the sharing of major instruments and equipment.

During the meeting, experts from Changsha Mining Research Institute presented their latest research progress in deep-sea mining and outlined future collaborative visions. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on university-industry cooperation, platform development, talent cultivation, and the translation of research outcomes into practical applications.
