On May 25, the Ministry of Education announced the approval results for Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions/programs in the first half of 2026. Two programs jointly launched by HEU and London Metropolitan University were successfully approved, the undergraduate program in Industrial Design and the doctoral program in Language Intelligence and Global Strategic Management, further expanding the scale of HEU’s cooperative education.
According to the Ministry of Education’s approval on changes to cooperative education programs earlier this month, two undergraduate programs with Swansea University were authorized to increase enrollment quotas. HEU is actively preparing applications for new cooperative education institutions and programs in the second half of 2026 to optimize the layout of international cooperation.
The Industrial Design undergraduate program with London Metropolitan University is HEU’s first “4+0” dual-degree cooperative education program at the undergraduate level. The Language Intelligence and Global Strategic Management doctoral program marks HEU’s first foray into cooperative education at the doctoral level, adopting a “3+0” foreign single-degree model.
Founded in 1848, London Metropolitan University is the third-largest national comprehensive university in the UK and the largest in London. In the 2026 Guardian University Guide, it ranks first in the UK for graduate employability, 6th for teaching quality (The Times, 2024), and holds a Gold rating for student experience in the TEF-2023.
Going forward, adhering to the principles of development needs and education quality, HEU will strengthen the top-level design and planning of cooperative education, appropriately expand its scale, enrich international educational resources, improve management mechanisms and quality assurance systems, enhance standardization and brand influence, build an integrated platform for international education, science and technology, and talent development, and promote high-quality development of cooperative education to support HEU’s Double First-Class construction.
