On June 9, a delegation led by WANG Yueqin, Director General of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for research and exchange. President YIN Jingwei met with Director General Wang and her delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics including high-level sci-tech innovation platform development, deep integration of industry, academia and research, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and cross-regional innovation synergy. Assistant to the President CHEN Hailong participated in the exchange.
During the visit, Director General WANG Yueqin and her delegation listened attentively to introductions about HEU, gaining detailed insights into HEU’s breakthroughs in core technologies and its achievements in serving national development. They also inspected research facilities and experimental conditions in person, and learned about HEU’s history and institutional heritage.
President YIN Jingwei welcomed Director General Wang and her delegation. He noted that HEU is fully committed to strengthening high-level innovation platforms such as national key laboratories, opening up channels for integrated industry-academia-research application, and promoting the translation of scientific and technological achievements into industrial development and national construction. He added that Guangdong Province is rich in sci-tech innovation resources and has a strong industrial foundation, with proven experience and remarkable results in developing regional innovation systems and commercializing research outputs. He expressed hope that the two sides will take this visit as an opportunity to enhance regular communication and coordination, jointly explore new models of cross-regional collaborative innovation, and contribute to high-level scientific and technological development.
Director General WANG Yueqin spoke highly of HEU’s outstanding research achievements. She stated that HEU has accumulated valuable experience in the integrated development of education, technology and talent, which is worthy of study and reference. She expressed anticipation for stronger exchanges and interactions between the two sides, calling for full use of their respective strengths, continuous expansion of cooperation in breadth and depth, and efficient synergy of innovation resources between the university, local governments and enterprises, so as to achieve mutual benefit and shared development.
