On June 11, WU Fang, Deputy Chief Engineer of the SPIC, led a delegation to conduct a research visit at HEU. ZHAO Yuxin, Vice President of HEU, met with the delegation. The two sides held a symposium focusing on thorium-based molten salt reactor technology R&D, industry-education integration, and talent cultivation.
ZHAO Yuxin stated that the university and SPIC have a profound foundation for cooperation in scientific research and talent cultivation. He hoped that both sides would establish a long-term effective cooperation mechanism, deepen industry-education integration, advance the coordinated development of education, science and technology, and human resources, and contribute to accelerating the high-level scientific and technological development of China’s energy sector.
WU Fang noted that HEU is an important talent training base in “SMON” fields, and has made important contributions to the development of China’s shipbuilding industry, nuclear industry, and economic and social progress. Over the years, the university and SPIC have maintained close cooperation, with the university delivering a large number of outstanding graduates to the group and providing a solid reserve of research talents for its development. He hoped that both sides would further deepen collaborative cooperation, focus on energy science and technology research and jointly cultivate high-end professional talents, to jointly serve China’s new strategy for energy security.
