Campus Open Day of Tuohai Culture Festival Kicks Off at HEU Yantai Research Institute

On June 14, the campus open day of the “Open Integration, Youth Empowerment” Tuohai Culture Festival officially kicked off at the Yantai Research Institute of Harbin Engineering University (HEU).

ZHANG Aiguo, Deputy Party Secretary of the Yantai Research Institute, presided over the opening ceremony.

ZHANG Yanghong, Party Secretary of the Yantai Research Institute, delivered a speech. He noted that as an annual signature cultural event of the institute, this campus open day brings together guests from all sectors, creates a diverse activity matrix integrating culture, services and exchanges, and continuously deepens university-local coordination and industry-education integration. Going forward, the institute will continue to take the Tuohai Culture Festival as a carrier, deepen its symbiotic development with the Huang-Bohai New Area, and empower the upgrading of marine industries and regional scientific and technological innovation.

Professor DONG Hao, an alumnus of the Harbin Military Engineering Institute, shared the university’s educational origin, disciplinary layout and core professional advantages on site. He stated that graduates of the university have broad development prospects in fields such as marine engineering and marine biomedicine. He praised the Yantai Research Institute for taking root in the Huang-Bohai New Area, and expressed his hope that the campus open day will continue to be held and grow in influence.

FEI Yanping, Human Resources Director of Yantai Dongcheng Biochemicals Co. Ltd., reviewed the fruitful cooperation outcomes with the Yantai Research Institute over the years in talent training and scientific research. He noted that both sides will take this culture festival as an opportunity to continue deepening university-enterprise cooperation, focus on technical research and talent cultivation in the nuclear medicine field, jointly explore new development prospects, and extend employment invitations to young students.

The three-day campus open day balances entertainment, cultural experience, public services and public welfare, allowing every visitor to experience the campus charm immersively. It has received more than 10,000 visitors from all walks of life in total.

The Tuohai Food Market set up six themed zones, where the vibrant street food atmosphere blends with military engineering and marine culture.

Characteristic campus tours were organized in an orderly manner, with volunteer guides leading visitors to campus cultural venues.

The Tuohai Lecture Hall held free public welfare film screenings for teachers, students and community residents, delivering positive energy through cinema.

The college entrance examination consultation zone saw high demand, with staff providing accurate guidance for senior high school students and their parents.

The free medical clinic gathered medical resources covering traditional Chinese medicine, stomatology, and sudden cardiac death screening, providing free health testing and consultation services and fulfilling the social responsibility of higher education institutions through public welfare.

As night fell, the lawn music festival at Tuohai Stadium became the most popular nighttime highlight, with young students performing on stage.

This campus open day of the Tuohai Culture Festival serves as an important window for the Yantai Research Institute to showcase its achievements in collaborative education with local governments and enterprises. Amid the important opportunity of the university’s golden decade of development, the Yantai Research Institute will adhere to open integration, deeply empower the regional marine economy, promote the two-way complementarity of campus scientific and educational resources and local industries, and strive for high-quality, connotative development through university-local collaboration.
