On 16 July, YIN Jingwei, President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), paid an inspection visit to Northeast Agricultural University (NEAU). The two universities signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly establish the Institute of Intelligent Agricultural Equipment.
FU Qiang, Party Secretary of NEAU, and LIU Zhuqing, President of NEAU, attended the signing ceremony. HAN Duanfeng, Vice President of HEU, accompanied the visit and took part in the event, which was chaired by CHEN Qingshan, Vice President of NEAU.
YIN Jingwei remarked that both universities are rooted in Heilongjiang Province with profound historical ties, and each boasts distinctive, highly complementary academic strengths. He expressed hope that the two sides would build on the Institute of Intelligent Agricultural Equipment to focus on breakthroughs in core technologies including intelligent sensing, autonomous operation and digital twin. The partnership aims to foster a new inter-university cooperation ecosystem defined by complementary strengths, shared resources and talent exchange, set a national benchmark for agriculture-engineering interdisciplinary collaboration among universities, and jointly cultivate new quality productive forces in agriculture to support Heilongjiang’s development.
FU Qiang and LIU Zhuqing stated that HEU and NEAU enjoy natural complementarity and close strategic alignment. They expected that, taking this strategic signing as an opportunity, the two sides would continue to focus on major national strategies and Heilongjiang’s industrial development needs. The two universities will work together to nurture top interdisciplinary talents, overcome key technical challenges in modern agriculture, build a demonstration highland for industrial technology translation, and contribute their combined strengths in science and education to national development.
On behalf of their respective institutions, HAN Duanfeng and CHEN Qingshan signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Northeast Agricultural University and Harbin Engineering University.
Meanwhile, the Cooperation Agreement on the Joint Construction of the Institute of Intelligent Agricultural Equipment was also signed at the meeting. YIN Jingwei and LIU Zhuqing witnessed the official inauguration of the institute.
