On July 11, YIN Jingwei, President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), led a delegation to the China Shipbuilding Comprehensive Technology and Economic Research Institute for a research visit. CAO Yousheng, President of the institute, and HAN Xiaoyan, Vice President, attended the symposium. The two sides held in-depth discussions on scientific research, platform development, and the commercialization of research outcomes.

President YIN stated that HEU and the institute share a strong foundation for collaboration and broad prospects for future cooperation. He expressed the hope that this exchange would serve as a starting point to further strengthen the university-industry partnership, and to create a seamless chain linking fundamental research, technological innovation, engineering application, outcome commercialization, and award strategy. He emphasized their joint commitment to advancing high-level scientific and technological development in the naval architecture and marine engineering sector, and to contributing greater synergies to the transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding industry.
President CAO stated that the institute, adhering to its “three first-class” strategic goals, has long been deeply engaged in top-level planning for the shipbuilding industry and in the development of scientific and technological innovation systems. He noted that its mission is highly aligned with that of HEU, with closely matched strengths in key disciplines and a shared developmental trajectory. This exchange, he said, represents a critical opportunity for the two parties to complement each other's advantages, share resources, coordinate mechanisms, and pursue common progress. In the next phase, both sides will carry out comprehensive, multi-dimensional, and substantive cooperation to jointly promote the high-quality development of the shipbuilding industry.
