Recently, the 2026 Frontier Forum for Young Scholars in Aerospace and the 5th Tuotian Forum for Young Scholars concluded in Changsha. ZHANG Sicheng, a young faculty member supervised by Professor LIN Yun from HEU’s College of Information and Communication Engineering, has been selected for the Chinese Journal of Aeronautics (CJA) “Rising Stars in Aerospace” Programme. Only 16 young scholars nationwide have received this honour.

Focusing on basic research and key technological innovation in the aerospace sector, the forum featured keynote speeches at the plenary session and academic presentations at parallel sub-forums. More than 50 postdoctoral researchers and senior doctoral students in aerospace-related fields presented their latest research outcomes across themes including fluid mechanics and aircraft design, aerospace propulsion and heat and mass transfer, aerospace intelligent perception, and navigation, guidance and control.

ZHANG Sicheng delivered an academic presentation entitled “Security Attack and Defence of Aerospace Intelligent Perception Models and Robust Recognition Methods”. Addressing model security risks arising from the deepening application of artificial intelligence in aerospace intelligent perception, the report introduced the team’s research progress and landmark achievements in security attack and defence of aerospace intelligent perception models, centring on topics such as adversarial sample attacks, robustness enhancement of intelligent perception models, and secure and trustworthy recognition. It systematically expounded the security threats, functional mechanisms and corresponding protection solutions faced by intelligent perception models in complex and open environments, earning high acclaim from participating experts.

The CJA “Rising Stars in Aerospace” Programme aims to identify and cultivate young scientific and technological talents with outstanding innovation potential in the aerospace field, and build a high-level platform for young scholars to showcase cutting-edge achievements, conduct academic exchanges and expand research cooperation.
