On 24 July, a delegation led by SHU Liang, General Manager of Taishan Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co., Ltd., visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU). The two sides held exchanges on talent cultivation, scientific research, and industry-education integration. YIN Jingwei, President of HEU, met with the visiting guests.

President YIN stated that HEU boasts a profound heritage in nuclear disciplines. Since its founding, the university has been deeply involved in the independent innovation of China’s nuclear power technology and nuclear energy development, serving as a core research and development force in China’s nuclear energy sector. He expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen cooperation, carry out collaborative work on talent training, scientific research and the commercialisation of scientific and technological achievements in interdisciplinary fields, jointly cultivate high-quality nuclear energy professionals, continuously advance the in-depth integration of industry, university, research and application, and make new contributions to the high-quality development of China’s nuclear energy cause.

SHU Liang noted that the Taishan nuclear power project, as a Sino-foreign cooperative demonstration power station, bears the important mission of driving the development of China’s nuclear power technology and safeguarding national energy security. HEU has distinctive strengths and deep foundations in nuclear disciplines, and has cultivated a large number of backbone talents for CGN over the years. He expressed hope that both sides would take this symposium as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation, promote two-way talent mobility between the university and the enterprise, focus on key technologies in the nuclear energy field, and jointly carry out research breakthroughs, joint talent training and achievement transformation, so as to support the steady progress of China’s nuclear power industry.
