On 28 July, a 3-member delegation led by MAO Yawei, General Manager of General Manager of China National Nuclear Corporation Overseas Ltd. (CNNC), visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU). CHEN Hailong, Assistant to the President of HEU, attended the symposium, where the two sides held in-depth discussions on deepening international talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation.

CHEN Hailong extended a warm welcome to MAO Yawei and his delegation. He stated that CNNC and HEU share a solid foundation for cooperation and broad development prospects, and the two sides have achieved fruitful results in joint training of international students, international talent programmes and platform resource sharing. He expressed hope that taking this exchange as an opportunity, both sides would further expand the breadth and depth of university-enterprise cooperation, continuously advance joint talent cultivation, research collaboration and platform co-construction, promote the precise alignment of the talent chain and industrial chain, and jointly support the global expansion of China’s nuclear power technology and high-level international cooperation.
MAO Yawei noted that the nuclear industry is currently in an important period of strategic opportunities, and CNNC shoulders the mission of leading Chinese nuclear energy technologies to the global market. With profound strengths and distinctive features in the “SMON” fields, HEU is highly aligned with CNNC business orientation. He expressed hope that both sides would comprehensively deepen university-enterprise cooperation, leverage HEU’s multidisciplinary comprehensive advantages, jointly cultivate world-class international talents, and carry out collaborative technical research, so as to provide solid talent support and technical guarantees for the export of China’s nuclear power technologies.
