On August 12, a nine-member delegation led by DU Min, President of Huawei's Higher Education Legion, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) to deepen industry-university-research collaboration. The two sides held symposium discussions focused on talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and smart campus development. HEU President YIN Jingwei attended the meeting, with Vice President YAN Rujian presiding over the meeting.

President YIN Jingwei extended a warm welcome to DU Min and his delegation. He stated that the two parties share broad prospects for cooperation in research collaboration, talent development, and smart campus construction. YIN expressed hope for the establishment of a regular exchange mechanism moving forward, with a focus on industrial software, shipbuilding intelligent manufacturing, integrated circuits, and other key areas. He called for deeper practical cooperation, the exploration of new models for AI-enabled practical teaching, and the integration of industry and education as well as science and education, so as to jointly contribute to national development.
DU Min stated that Huawei remains committed to advancing smart education, with a sustained focus on promoting AI-enabled practical teaching and smart campus development to actively drive the digital transformation of education. Noting HEU's distinctive strengths and its track record of cultivating outstanding talent and producing landmark achievements, Du expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. He emphasized the value of sharing resources and complementing each other's advantages, co-developing AI general education courses and professional AI practicums, and jointly cultivating high-caliber talent for the intelligent era. By leveraging computing power to enhance teaching and research, and by fostering deeper integration between technological innovation and industrial advancement, the two sides aim to establish a new benchmark for university-enterprise cooperation and contribute to the advancement of science and technology.
