Recently, the national final of the 21st China Postgraduate Electronic Design Contest (CPEDC) was held at the Internet Light Expo Centre in Wuzhen, Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province.

After fierce competition, postgraduate students from Harbin Engineering University (HEU) won 10 national first prizes, 9 second prizes and 37 third prizes. Both the number of first prizes and the total number of awards hit an all-time high. HEU ranked first among all universities across China in the total number of national-level awards, and third nationwide in the number of national first prizes. In addition, the university received 9 enterprise special awards, 14 faculty members were named Outstanding Instructors, and HEU was honoured with the Outstanding Organisation Award.

HEU has always aligned talent cultivation with national strategic needs, invested deeply in its science and innovation education system, and continuously refined the education model of promoting teaching, learning and innovation through competitions. It guides postgraduate students to focus on national strategic priorities and pursue in-depth innovative practice. As one of the flagship events of the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Competition Series, the China Postgraduate Electronic Design Contest has seen HEU rank among the top 10 universities nationwide for five consecutive years, and has become a “golden signature” of the university’s innovation practice education.
With the theme “Harnessing Electricity, Pursuing Light, Boundless AI”, this year’s contest launched in April and drew participants from 379 postgraduate training institutions across the country, with nearly 10,000 teams and over 40,000 teachers and students — a new record in scale. At the national final, 780 teams from 176 universities across nine competition zones gathered in Wuzhen to compete in cutting-edge industrial fields such as artificial intelligence and advanced chips.
