To support innovation and entrepreneurship among HEUers, the third session of the Fengling AI Practical Camp, themed “Hit Short Film Creation & AI Exchange Competition”, was held on 30 August. Focusing on AI short drama and video creation, the event drew many young participants from both inside and outside the university.
Breaking away from the traditional one-way lecture format, the event combined case analysis, on-site teaching, interactive Q&A and hands-on creation. Centring on key links including short drama opening design, character conflict setting, storyboard deconstruction, image generation, and video editing and export, the activity guided participants to experience the full AI video production workflow from scratch.
After reviewing case studies, participants drafted short drama openings on site based on campus life and personal interests, and gradually turned textual creativity into visual images and video clips with AI tools. Addressing common challenges such as character consistency, storyboard transition, and subtitle-dubbing alignment, participants kept experimenting through peer discussion and tool practice. Some students completed and submitted their first AI short drama works on site, taking the first creative step from zero to one.
The event enabled participants to fully experience the creative journey from script conception to final film export, stimulating young students’ enthusiasm for AI application. Going forward, the Fengling AI Practical Camp will continue to launch basic and advanced activities covering AI video, AI programming, tool application and project practice, improve beginner tutorials and case templates, deepen the project co-creation mechanism, and guide more students to integrate artificial intelligence into their learning, growth and innovation entrepreneurship.
In the future, the university Science Park will continue to collaborate with internal and external resources, promote “joint creation by teachers and students”, build a vibrant hub for youth innovation, deepen university-industry integration, and inject new momentum into the growth of youth sci-tech innovation projects and the high-quality innovation development of the university.
