Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group Vice President GUO Lei and Delegation Visit HEU for Research Exchange

On 4 September, GUO Lei, Vice President and CTO of Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, led a six-member delegation to Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for research exchange. The two sides held a symposium on in-depth university-enterprise cooperation, commercialisation of scientific and technological achievements, joint talent training, and industry-university-research collaborative development. YIN Jingwei, President of HEU, attended the symposium, with HAN Duanfeng, Vice President of HEU, also present.

YIN Jingwei stated that HEU attaches great importance to in-depth cooperation with leading enterprises in the industry. Geely Group has developed rapidly in the field of new energy commercial vehicles in recent years with outstanding industrial advantages. He hoped both sides would take this visit as an opportunity to establish a regular cooperation and exchange mechanism, focus on deepening collaborative research in areas including methanol power, new energy vessels and intelligent equipment, explore the joint construction of an innovation platform, deepen joint talent training, and accelerate the implementation and commercialisation of technological achievements, so as to make new and greater contributions to serving new-type industrialisation.

GUO Lei introduced Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group’s strategic layout and innovative breakthroughs in fields such as intelligent electric vehicles, green methanol and new energy vessels in recent years. He noted that HEU boasts profound heritage and outstanding scientific research achievements in naval architecture and ocean engineering, aerospace, underwater unmanned vehicles, cold-region equipment and other fields, and the two sides are highly aligned in multiple disciplinary directions with broad cooperation space. He expressed the hope that the two sides would carry out all-round cooperation in methanol power, intelligent vessels, agricultural machinery equipment, polar equipment and other areas, to complement each other’s advantages and share resources, contributing to high-level scientific and technological development.

HAN Duanfeng introduced the university’s development history, educational characteristics and scientific and technological innovation progress.

Relevant teams from the College of Power and Energy Engineering, College of Computer Science and Technology, College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering, and Yantai Research Institute respectively reported on their research progress and project achievements.
