On 12 September, the Innovation and Development Conference of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Harbin Engineering University (HEU) was held in the Qihang Activity Centre.
ZHANG Jinlan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; YIN Jingwei, President of HEU; WANG Junli, Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Naval Aechitects and Marine Engineers; PANG Guohua, Director of the 713th Research Institute of CSSC; and ZHAO Jingdong, Party Secretary of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology, attended the conference and delivered speeches. HAN Duanfeng, Vice President of HEU, presented the flag to the Specialized Committee for Advanced Intelligent Manufacturing of the HEU Alumni Association.
In his address, YIN Jingwei noted that mechanical engineering plays a core backbone role in the equipment manufacturing industry. The university will, as always, support the development of mechanical engineering disciplines. He hoped the school would embrace intelligent development and enterprise innovation, and contribute mechanical and electrical strengths to building HEU into a world-class university with distinctive features.
ZHANG Jinlan stated that the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at HEU has formed unique strengths in underwater intelligent operation, marine intelligent manufacturing and other fields, making positive contributions to national development. He hoped the college would focus on national strategic needs to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies, deepen industry-university-research collaborative innovation, and fulfil its mission in serving equipment construction, so as to make new and greater contributions to the modernisation of marine equipment.
WANG Junli expressed the hope that students and young scientific and technological workers at the university would uphold their aspirations, stay grounded, dare to innovate, align with national strategic needs, value the platform of their alma mater, scale the heights of science, and contribute their youth to national development.
PANG Guohua noted that the 713th Research Institute of CSSC has achieved fruitful cooperation with the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in talent training, technological research and achievement commercialisation. He hoped both sides would expand cooperation space, strengthen joint talent cultivation and sharing, and jointly build a bright future for equipment development.
ZHAO Jingdong said that the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Colleges of HEU and Harbin Institute of Technology share a profound foundation for long-term cooperation. He hoped the college would stay at the disciplinary frontier in serving national strategies, achieve collaborative innovation through open cooperation, seize opportunities, and continuously create new prospects for its development.
At the conference, the Specialized Committee for Advanced Intelligent Manufacturing of the HEU Alumni Association was officially established. HAN Duanfeng presented the flag to the committee, and CUI Ruijie, its chairman, received the flag and delivered a speech.
CUI Ruijie expressed the expectation that the college would continue to build a platform for emotional connection and mutual career development between alumni and the alma mater, and that alumni would support the college in discipline construction, research cooperation and talent training, jointly gathering strong momentum for the school’s high-quality development.
The conference also held the launching ceremony of the Council of the Institute of High-Speed Motors.
ZHANG Qingyuan, Chairman of Shenyang Microcontrol Flywheel Technology Co., Ltd., expressed the hope that alumni enterprises would deepen industry-university-research cooperation with the college, explore more “university-led, enterprise-co-built” collaborative innovation models, and turn more scientific research achievements into real productive forces.
At the enterprise donation ceremony, the relevant head of the Development and Liaison Department presented donation certificates to representatives of donating enterprises.
LUO Yang, founder of Beijing Dahai Wuliang Technology Co., Ltd. and representative of donating enterprises, delivered a speech. She said the company would promote university-enterprise linkage, support the college’s scientific and technological innovation and talent training, and work with alumni to boost the college’s high-quality development.
The conference held the university-enterprise collaborative education appreciation ceremony, as well as the release ceremony for Outstanding Contributors to Education.
The relevant head of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering delivered a report on the college’s development at the conference.
During the event, a series of academic exchanges and alumni seminars, including the Consultation Conference on Mechanical Engineering Discipline Construction, were held around discipline development and industry-education integration, pooling multi-stakeholder efforts to advance the school’s high-quality development.
