On October 18, the National Finals of the 13th China Graduate Energy Equipment Innovation and Design Competition were held at Yangtze University in Jingzhou, Hubei Province. After fierce competition, HEU graduate students won 4 national first prizes, 8 second prizes, and 15 third prizes. The total number of awards hit a record high; the number of national first prizes ranked third among universities nationwide, and the total number of national awards ranked fourth among universities nationwide!
This year’s competition was large in scale, with a total of 11,371 graduate student participations and 599 teams shortlisted for the finals. The College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the College of Nuclear Science and Technology of HEU took the lead in organizing campus selection, competitor training, and implementation, with a total of 27 teams advancing to the national finals.
HEU has always based itself on the needs of national strategic talent cultivation. Using competitions as a platform, it has improved working mechanisms that encourage exploration and support practice, promoted the deep integration of graduate training and innovative practice, driven ideas from blueprints to works and from laboratories to competition arenas, and cultivated more outstanding engineers who meet social needs.
