The New Industry Standardization Pilot Forum recently opened in Beijing. XIONG Jijun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. YIN Jingwei, President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), participated in the main forum and delivered a plenary report. The Joint Laboratory for Marine Information and Unmanned Equipment, co-established by the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI) and HEU, was inaugurated at the forum.

President YIN delivered a plenary report entitled Research Progress in Deep-Sea Distributed Underwater Acoustic Technology and Industrial Standards. Focusing on key technical bottlenecks in China’s underwater acoustic sector, he provided an in-depth analysis of multiple technical challenges facing underwater acoustic technology in extreme sea areas, and systematically introduced HEU’s technical foundation, systematic layout and full-chain technological breakthroughs in the field of underwater acoustics.

The report outlined future development priorities: HEU will advance a systematic standard layout centring on equipment interconnection and networking interfaces, positioning accuracy grading, and link performance evaluation. It will smooth the transformation chain of “technology – data – patent – standard” to accelerate the conversion of HEU’s strengths in underwater acoustic technology into Standardization advantages, contributing further to the development of new quality productive forces in the underwater acoustic sector.

At the forum, President YIN and LIU Xiangang, President of the CESI, jointly launched the inauguration ceremony of the Joint Laboratory for Marine Information and Unmanned Equipment. The laboratory will deepen cooperation in competitive fields such as deep-sea distributed underwater acoustics, collaborate with leading industry players, and cultivate high-calibre Standardization talent. It will build a tiered Standardization promotion system covering group standards, industry standards, national standards and international standards. Leveraging standard development to amplify technological strengths, the laboratory will contribute to scientific and industrial innovation in the field of marine information and unmanned equipment.
