College of Power and Energy Engineering was founded in1953.After nearly 70 years of construction and development, it has become the cradle of China's first-class innovative talents in ship power and an important base for scientific research. The Marine Engineering has passed the certification of IMarEST---Institute of Marine Engineers.

The college has 103 full-time teachers, 64 doctoral supervisors, and 95 postgraduate supervisors. There are 1795 students, 1127 undergraduate students, 387 master students, 261 doctoral students, and 20 international students.

The college is strong in scientific research, and its research level in the fields of marine internal combustion engine and intelligence, gas turbine and digital management, low carbon clean energy and efficient utilization, and marine power plant system design is at the leading level in China. Its annual scientific research funds rank among the forefront of similar disciplines in China.

The college has established good cooperative relations with over 20 international famous universities in Britain, the United States, Thailand, among others.
