The ocean has nurtured human civilization. And it is the cradle of life, the treasure house of resources, and the lifeblood of transportation. The ocean is an important guarantee and material base for human production and life and it is a strategic location for high-quality development as well.

In 2019, at the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Liberation Army Navy, President Xi Jinping proposed to build a maritime community with a shared future. In order to implement President Xi Jinping’s important concept of "a maritime community with a shared future " and promote the construction of a maritime community with a shared future, Academic Division of Machinery and Transportation Engineering of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Science and Technology Committee of China State Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. jointly hosted High End Forum for the Construction of a Maritime Community with a Shared Future and International Conference on Marine Equipment Technology and Sustainable Development.

The conference was composed of opening ceremony, main forum, principals' forum, industry development forum, and Academic Topic Forum both online and offline. A group of domestic and foreign experts and scholars, industry group leaders, major leaders of university, and government personnel were invited. The conference will conduct extensive and in-depth exchanges and discussions on the vision and tasks for the construction of a maritime community with a shared future, machinery, transportation and the ocean, ships and marine equipment, marine engineering, and marine information and technology to promote the construction of a maritime community with a shared future, especially marine equipment technology and sustainable development.
