On August 31, The Royal Institution of Naval Architects, RINA, sent Professor Ni Baoyu of HEU a congratulatory letter to inform him of his selection as a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, FRINA. On September 5, RINA CEO Chris Boyd read out the honor award decision on behalf of the RINA Executive Committee through an online video and expressed his warm congratulations.
The Royal Institution of Naval Architects was established in London, England in 1860 with the aim of advancing the art and science of ship design. It is a world-renowned international professional institution and academic group, and one of the most influential international authoritative academic institutions in the field of ship and marine engineering.
It is also an NGO of consultative status with the International Maritime Organization. Its members cover more than 90 countries and represent the global shipping industry, research institutions, and maritime organizations. Fellow is the highest-ranking member of the society, including dozens of British academicians and academicians from around the world.
As per fellowship recommendations, the Society annually selects scientists who have made outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of ship and ocean engineering in the UK and the world. Professor Ni Baoyu was selected as a RINA Fellow, which is a breakthrough for HEU in this honor.
