As one of the important academic activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of HEU, from March 31st to April 1st, 2023 High End Forum for the Construction of a Maritime Community with a Shared Future and International Conference on Marine Equipment Technology and Sustainable Development was held in Beijing.The theme of the conference is “Gather scientific and technological forces in ship and sea engineering to build a maritime community with a shared future”.
The conference was organized by Academic Division of Machinery and Transportation Engineering of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Science and Technology Committee of China State Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. And System Engineering Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., China Ship Research and Development Academy, Mount Lao Laboratory and Harbin Engineering University were the executive organizers.
The conference conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the construction of a maritime community with a shared future, as well as the marine equipment technology and sustainable development. The aim was to gather the scientific and technological forces of ship and sea engineering, work together to face various maritime challenges, strengthen maritime connectivity and practical cooperation in various fields. The conference also aimed at promoting the development of the blue economy, the integration of marine culture and the construction of a maritime community with a shared future.
Yang Jincheng, General Manager of China State Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Director of Hanjiang Laboratory, Yang Desen, academician of CAE and professor of HEU, served as the chairman of the organizing committee of the conference.
Leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Natural Resources, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Secretariat of China National Commission for UNESCO and other relevant departments, 19 academicians, and more than 500 representatives from China State Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., HEU and more than 90 domestic industry associations, scientific research institutes, universities and enterprises participated in the conference online and offline.
The conference discussed and launched Initiatives of 2023 High End Forum for the Construction of a Maritime Community with a Shared Future---"Our Homeland, Our Responsibilities, Our Actions", advocating that governments, intergovernmental organizations, international and regional organizations, industry organizations, enterprises, universities, and research institutions of all countries uphold the concept of global ocean governance through consultation, construction and sharing, and deepen cooperation in the fields of ocean technology, ocean equipment, ocean talent, and ocean economy. The initiatives also called for the promotion of the construction of marine culture based on common human values and the construction of a maritime community with a shared future hand in hand.
