All things in spring are in full bloom. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of Harbin Engineering University, Qingdao Innovation and Development Base, together with HEU Alumni Association and Qingdao Alumni Association, jointly held the alumni campus open day activity of "Visiting the Campus hand in hand, Celebrating the Birthday of Our Alma Mater". Over 700 alumni of the PLA Military Engineering Institute--Harbin Shipbuilding Engineering Institute--Harbin Engineering University and their families participated in the event. Military bugles summoned alumni who gathered in the lecture hall with the national anthem and school song resounding throughout the lecture hall.
SHEN Hongyu, Director of HEU Alumni Affairs Office, said in her speech that alumni are staunch defenders of the alma mater, powerful spokespersons for the image of the alma mater, and effective ways to spread HEU's culture and expand its social influence. She emphasized that alumni should lay a good foundation and take a good step in the high-quality development of the national marine economy and show the noble quality of university motto and the red inheritance of the PLA Military Engineering Institute. She also proposed alumni should serve the strategy of the national maritime power and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation to demonstrate the magnificent power of HEU and its 150000 alumni.
LI Yan, on behalf of Qingdao Alumni Association, donated money to HEU and a crystal book for the 70th anniversary celebration.
This alumni campus opening day event is honored to invite LU Yunzhi (alumni of grade 1964 of the PLA Military Engineering Institute) and his wife YANG Jing, ZENG Xiao'an (alumni of grade 1965 of the PLA Military Engineering Institute), and DAi Minmin (alumni of grade 1965 of the PLA Military Engineering Institute). After the ceremony in the main venue, all alumni gathered again at CHEN Geng Square for the "Global Alumni’s Celebration of HEU’S 70th anniversary and Flag Transmission".
HEU flag, the celebration flag, the flag of Qingdao Alumni Association, the flag of the professional degree branch of the Qingdao Alumni Association flapped in the wind, and 8 students completed the transmission around the CHEN Geng Square in the applause of the alumni.
