On May 8th, the organizing committee meeting and the first preparatory work meeting of the 12th National Marine Vehicle Design and Production Competition was held at HEU. Experts and scholars from 26 institutions, including The Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and National University of Defense Technology, participated in the meeting. JIN Xiang Jun, Permanent Deputy Secretary general  of The Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, presided over the meeting. Principal assistant ZHAO Yuxin attended the meeting.

WANG Junli, Secretary General of The Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, summarized the previous competition. He emphasized that all hosting universities should attach great importance to the organization of the competition, ensure the smooth holding of the competition, and express gratitude to HEU for hosting this national competition.

ZHAO Yuxin delivered a welcome speech and briefly introduced HEU's historical development, culture of innovation, and characteristics of innovation and entrepreneurship work. He stated that as an important talent cultivation and scientific research base in the field of Shipbuilding Industry, Marine Equipment, Ocean Exploration and Nuclear Application, HEU has always adhered to the fundamental task of fostering virtues, and implemented the strategy of building a strong maritime and talent country. Based on its own reality, HEU adheres to the characteristics of shipbuilding, cultivates high-quality talents in the field of shipbuilding, and serves the high-quality development of the shipbuilding industry.
