On May 31, HEU invited the Heilongjiang Peking Opera Academy to present a cultural theme performance of Beijing Opera to students, allowing them to have close contact with traditional Chinese culture and immerse themselves in the profound national culture. The performance was warmly welcomed by the students.

Before the performance, the opening ceremony of the Beijing Opera Inheritance Base of Heilongjiang Peking Opera Academy was held at the Qihang Activity Center. GENG Jing, Vice President and Executive Vice President of the Undergraduate School, and LI Zhong, President of Heilongjiang Peking Opera Academy, jointly inaugurated the base.

GENG Jing said that aesthetic education is an important way to cultivate aesthetic taste, improve humanistic quality, cultivate a beautiful soul and strengthen cultural self-confidence. It is hoped that through the construction of the Peking Opera Heritage Base, the two sides can cooperate deeply in the aspects of exhibition and performance, curriculum construction, community building, popularization and promotion, so as to build a more professional Peking Opera art education platform for teachers and students, and improve their artistic achievement and aesthetic ability.

The performance is divided into two parts: artistic experience and artistic appreciation. The thick and colorful makeup and beautifully embroidered costumes have aroused the interest of the students, and some of them also boldly tried the makeup. Professionals from the theater applied makeup to their eyes, foreheads, faces carefully, while explaining the steps to them. The steps that used to be behind the scenes were brought to the front stage so that the students could experience the charm of traditional culture and art firsthand.
