On June 9th, the 15th World Oceans Day was celebrated. Notably, a student research team from Harbin Engineering University has made significant strides by creating the world's first induced coating. This pioneering technology, labeled as "a marine engineering anticorrosion breakthrough that challenges conventional understanding," has garnered praise from industry experts. The team's innovation involves transforming marine organisms into "marine defenders," a measure aimed at safeguarding coastal projects and the marine ecological environment.

Guided by three esteemed professors, Lv Jianfu and Gao Ming from the College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering at the university, along with Xu Fei from the Institute of Oceanology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a team of twelve students hailing from various colleges and institutions achieved the completion of the project titled "Marine Defender: Integrated Marine Engineering Coatings for Heavy Anti-corrosion and Ecological Restoration." Among these students were Huang Jiantao, Xu Chengwei, Shen Meiqi, Yang Qianle, and Guo Jingyi from the College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering, alongside several other students from the School of Economics and Management and the Institute of Oceanology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The project successfully combines marine life with anticorrosive coatings, resulting in significant enhancements to the durability of marine engineering structures and the overall marine ecological environment. Furthermore, the project was honored with the bronze award at the 13th "Challenge Cup" Chinese College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition.
