On August 9th, Harbin Engineering University hosted the 2023 Symposium for Scientific and Technological Professionals of the Chinese Society of Inertial Technology. The event drew the participation of over 300 scientific and technological experts specializing in inertial technology. The symposium revolved around the latest developments in inertial components and advanced navigation technology, encompassing comprehensive discussions and exchanges on novel inertial components, their system theories, designs, manufacturing techniques, and practical applications.

In his address, Yao Yu extended a warm welcome to the attending experts, underscoring the pivotal role of the university's navigation, guidance, and control disciplines in the realm of navigation studies. These disciplines, characterized by their maritime orientation, have played a crucial role in the university's pursuit of "double first-class" discipline construction. The Symposium placed particular emphasis on addressing the pressing demands for long-endurance and high-precision autonomous navigation. It squarely centered on advancements in new inertial components and advanced navigation technology, marking a significant academic milestone within the field of mobile navigation.
It was anticipated that all participating experts and scholars would fully leverage their talents and insights during the conference.
