On August 28, Harbin Engineering University hosted the inaugural conference for the Harbin Alumni Association in the academic lecture hall located on the fourth floor of the school's Sailing Activity Center. Vice President Han Duanfeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, was present. The event saw the participation of more than 100 individuals, including presidents and secretaries-general from various alumni associations and representatives of alumni residing in Harbin.
Han Duanfeng noted that the formal establishment of the Harbin Alumni Association coincides with the school's 70th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in the association's development. He emphasized that the primary objective of alumni affairs is to support the lifelong growth of alumni. Furthermore, he expressed his hope that every alumnus would thrive and make meaningful contributions to the advancement of their alma mater.
Li Rui, the Secretary-General of the Harbin Alumni Association Preparatory Committee, presented a report on the preparatory efforts and provided an overview of the Harbin Alumni Association's activities over the past four years.
The current representatives of Harbin alumni conducted a vote on the "Articles of Association of Harbin Engineering University Harbin Alumni Association," and the voting results were unanimously approved. During the election, the Harbin Alumni Association selected 60 directors, 10 vice presidents, and 10 deputy secretaries-general. They also elected Li Rui, an alumnus from the class of '03-618, as the secretary-general and Chen Bo, an alumnus from the class of '84-111, as the president.
HAN Duanfeng issued letters of appointment to the Harbin Alumni Association Council members and bestowed the Harbin Alumni Association flag upon Chen Bo.
CHEN Bo delivered an address in which he expressed his aspiration for Harbin alumni to wholeheartedly act as a bridge connecting their alma mater with fellow alumni, to provide enhanced service to their institution, alumni community, and to actively contribute to society.
