On September 1st, Meixianjun, Deputy Director of the Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, and his delegation visited the university to participate in the 70th-anniversary innovation and development conference. During the event, the university entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with the Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, with a focus on fostering practical collaboration in scientific research, talent development, and platform construction. Vice President Yin Jingwei presided over the signing ceremony.

He emphasized the complementary nature of the university and the Second Institute of Oceanography, highlighting their substantial potential for collaboration. He expressed the aspiration that both entities would bolster communication and effectively execute the strategic cooperation agreement. This collaboration should be oriented towards national strategic objectives and critical strategic necessities. Their comprehensive cooperation should encompass areas such as deep-sea resource exploration and development, marine environmental investigation and monitoring, and polar resource conservation and utilization. The aim is to elevate the level of technological innovation in the field of marine science and advance the cultivation of highly skilled and innovative marine professionals, thereby contributing to the achievement of self-reliance and strength in marine science and technology.
