From September 8th to 10th, 2023, the "2023 International Conference on Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing Technology (AMIMT2023)" was hosted in Yantai, Shandong province. The event saw the participation of 461 experts and scholars representing 205 universities and enterprises from both domestic and international sectors.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor YANG Piaoping, who serves as the Dean of the College of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering at Harbin Engineering University. Distinguished guests, including GAO Junbo, Vice Chairman of the Yantai Committee of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference; LIANG Jun, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Society for Composite Materials; Evgeny Appolonov, President of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping (Russia); and YIN Jingwei, Vice President of Harbin Engineering University, were present and delivered opening speeches.
During the ceremony, significant agreements were inked. Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, Yantai Research Institute of Harbin Engineering University, and ShanDong CharmRay Laser Technology Co., Ltd. signed a collaborative framework agreement for the establishment of the "Sino Russian Marine Additive Manufacturing Industry Technology Innovation Center." Simultaneously, two vital research bases, namely the Sino Russian Joint Welding Technology Laboratory and the International Joint Research and Development Center for Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing (currently in preparation), were launched. These initiatives aim to foster international collaboration between universities and enterprises, chart the future course for advanced materials and manufacturing, develop critical equipment, and facilitate mutual growth.
Following the opening ceremony, an engaging academic presentation session unfolded with Professor WU Linzhi from Harbin Engineering University and Professor Geng Lin from Harbin Institute of Technology taking on the roles of hosts.
