On September 22, 2023, the International Academic Forum on International Chinese Language Education Seminar was held at the Qihang Activity Hall. Nearly 100 distinguished experts and scholars from 85 institutions across 7 countries engaged in in-depth discussions about the future development and cutting-edge theories of international Chinese education. They explored collaborative development, innovation, and opportunities in the field of international Chinese education research in the new era.

This seminar was co-organized by HEU and Hankao International Education Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., with additional support from the College of International Studies at Prince of Songkla University. Under the theme "Research on International Chinese Language Education in the New Era: Development, Innovation, and Opportunities," the seminar aimed to provide a platform for exchange and promote sustainable, high-quality development in international Chinese language education.

Yu Zhiwen, Vice President of HEU, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the significance of initiating international Chinese education for international students back in 2005. He also highlighted their preparations to establish a master's degree program in international Chinese education. In 2016, the Confucius Institute of HEU earned the title of Global Advanced Confucius Institute, marking a significant achievement in the school's international Chinese education efforts and addressing the needs of Chinese language enthusiasts. Yu Zhiwen expressed a hope that this seminar would ignite innovative ideas among the attending experts and scholars, contributing to the prosperity and advancement of international Chinese language education.
