On September 25, during the opening ceremony of the 8th International Conference on Ships and Offshore Structures (ICSOS 2023) , the International Centre for Advanced Safety Studies (ICASS) was officiallyunveiled in the conference and established at Yantai. Yan Rujian, the vice president of HEU, graced the conference with his presence.

As a global research center collaborating with leading international organizations, the International Centre for Advanced Safety Studies is under the leadership of Professor Jeom Kee Paik. It is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Science and ICT (South Korea), the National Research Foundation of Korea, Lloyd’s Register Foundation and other organizations. Its primary mission is to address complex research challenges in advanced safety.
