On September 27th, the inaugural International Conference for Training Excellent Engineers took place in Beijing. Simultaneously, a subforum titled "International Conference for Training Excellent Engineers in the Field of Smart Energy," jointly organized by Chongqing University and Southern Power Grid, commenced. During this event, the International Conference for Training Excellent Engineers in the Field of Smart Energy was officially launched, and essential courses and competency standards were unveiled. YAN Rujian, Vice President of HEU, was among the attendees.

This initiative, spearheaded by Chongqing University, involves collaboration from 14 universities, including Tsinghua University, and 12 leading enterprises like State Grid and Southern Power Grid.

HEU, as a member of this union, plans to leverage this platform to advance discipline development, tackle engineering challenges, enhance talent development, and fortify curriculum offerings in the smart energy field. The objective is to further integrate industry and education and promote the creation of a world-class excellent engineer training standard system with distinct Chinese characteristics. Additionally, the initiative aims to drive systemic transformation in engineering education and collaborate with other members to establish a community focused on education, technology, and talent.
