On October 1st, the inaugural ceremony for the Global Youth Committee for Carbon Neutrality and Green Development was held in Beijing. Harbin Engineering University (HEU) proudly joined the Global Carbon Neutrality and Green Development Youth Committee. Among the notable appointments, Shi Jie and Majed Shreka, both Ph.D. graduates from the College of Power and Energy Engineering, were named as the first-ever Global Carbon Neutrality and Green Development Youth Ambassadors. Additionally, Zhu Yuanqing, a faculty member at the Power Institute, assumed the role of a correspondent for the Global Carbon Neutrality and Green Development Youth Committee.
The establishment of the Global Youth Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Development aligns with the worldwide expectation for harnessing the power of youth. It also reinforces the sense of responsibility and mission among young individuals, both domestically and internationally, to actively participate in achieving carbon neutrality. This initiative contributes to encouraging the meaningful involvement of young people globally in matters related to global governance.
