On October 30th, the 18th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition concluded successfully at Guizhou University. HEU accomplished an impressive feat in this competition, securing three main event outstanding awards, one first prize, one second prize, and one third prize, along with 19 special event awards, totaling 25 accolades. With a team total score that ranked 9th in the country, HEU once again earned the prestigious "Cup of Excellence." This marks a historic achievement in terms of the highest number of awards, the highest award level, and the national ranking for HEU since its participation in the national "Challenge Cup" competition.

During the closing ceremony, GUO Zhengyou, the team leader of the award-winning project "Magnetic Shield - China's First Ultra Light and High Toughness Magnesium-lithium-based electromagnetic shielding material," and a 2020 undergraduate student from the College of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering, delivered an outstanding project report as one of the four university representatives in the main competition.
