Recently, the 9th China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) Youth Talent Nurture Program announced its list. Three young teachers from HEU, namely WANG Yongkui, WANG Yang, and HAO Yu, have been selected.
WANG Yongkui, an assistant researcher at the College of Shipbuilding Engineering, primarily focuses on research related to ice accretion on the superstructure of polar ships, droplet dynamics, and thermodynamic coupling. He has led over 10 national research projects in related technical fields, participated in a significant national natural science foundation project, and authored 8 papers in esteemed journals such as "Physics of Fluids" and "Ocean Engineering" in the field of fluid mechanics. Furthermore, he holds 3 invention patents, registered 4 software copyrights, and contributed to the authorship of three Chinese books and one English book titled "Encyclopedia of Ocean Engineering."
WANG Yang, an associate professor and master's supervisor in the College of Power and Energy Engineering, specializes in advanced combustion theory and technology of power units. As a member of the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines and the Energy Equipment Expert Group of the Chinese Society of Energy, he serves as a guest editor for journals like "Frontiers in Energy Research" and "Fire." Additionally, he is an editorial board member of the journal "Energy Science and Technology." WANG Yang has published over 30 papers as a first/corresponding author, including 2 highly cited papers in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database. He has received more than 30 patents as the first inventor, including 4 international invention patents.
HAO Yu, a lecturer and master's supervisor in the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, specializes in underwater detection, positioning, and navigation. He has published over 10 papers in well-known domestic and international journals such as the "Journal of the Acoustical Society of America" and the "Acta Acustica." Additionally, he has been granted more than 20 invention patents and received the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award from the Acoustical Society of China in 2021. HAO Yu also serves as a young editorial board member for relevant journals in the field.
