From April 29th to 30th, President SONG Yingdong of HEU led a team to Hefei for research on technology innovation, talent cultivation, industry-education integration, and alumni growth and development.
During the visit, SONG Yingdong and his delegation held discussions with ZHANG Hongwen, Secretary of the Hefei Municipal Party Committee. They engaged in in-depth exchanges on promoting talent cultivation, enrollment, and employment, technology transfer, serving regional economic development, and research and development in the field of nuclear fusion technology. It was unanimously agreed that both sides should seize development opportunities to strengthen cooperation between schools, localities, and enterprises, accurately align with major national development strategies, and take proactive actions to seize the opportunity. Both sides agreed to fully leverage their characteristics and advantages to empower each other to achieve high-quality development.
At the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, SONG Yingdong and his delegation visited the world's first fully superconducting Tokamak device independently designed and built in China—the East Super Ring (EAST) large scientific device. They also paid a visit to the alumni working in the institute.
Accompanied by the Institute's Director, SONG Yuntao, they were introduced to the development and major research achievements of the Plasma Institute. SONG Yingdong expressed that HEU has a certain research foundation in the field of nuclear fusion and looks forward to further deepening cooperation between the two sides, making new and greater contributions to the development and utilization of clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient fusion energy for humanity.
