The First CCF University Presidents Forum took place at Harbin Engineering University on May 25th. Co-hosted by Harbin Engineering University in collaboration with 14 domestic universities, including Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Hunan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Beihang University, the forum was organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF).

Speeches were delivered by GAO Yan, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin Engineering University, CHENG Shuang, the Deputy Director of the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province, and TANG Weiqing, the Secretary-General of CCF. Over 30 university presidents and vice presidents from domestic institutions attended the conference.

GAO Yan expressed gratitude to academicians, experts, and scholars for their long-term care, support, and assistance to the university, as well as to the participating universities for their support of the forum. He emphasized that Harbin Engineering University would leverage its disciplinary advantages, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence, to promote talent cultivation reforms and advance the training of top-notch innovative talents in the computer field.

CHENG Shuang highlighted the efforts of the education system in Heilongjiang Province to enhance the quality of independent talent cultivation and foster top-notch innovative talents through projects such as the Heilongjiang Graduate Education Innovation and Quality Improvement Project and the Undergraduate Education Connotation Construction and Innovative Development Project.

TANG Weiqing briefly introduced the development history of the China Computer Federation, emphasizing its significant role in various aspects of the computing field, with over 110,000 members and more than 1,500 formal activities held annually. He expressed hope for enhanced communication among experts and scholars to promote innovation and development in computer science.

The opening ceremony was chaired by YU Zhiwen, the Vice President of Harbin Engineering University and the Chairman of the Forum. 

Additionally, special invited lectures were delivered online by Academician WANG Huaimin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician JIANG Changjun of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Founding President NING Mingxuan of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and President SHI Yuanchun of Qinghai University.
